Simple Health Community Acupuncture FAQs & Tips

FAQs about Community Acupuncture Event

  • How long will my appointment take?

    • From beginning to end, your session will be around 30 minutes

  • How much is this treatment?

    • This is a donation based treatment. The proceeds of today will benefit a local Long Beach Non-Profit called For the Child. We have a base donation of $25, but please make your donation as you see fit for the benefit of For the Child.

  • What form of payment will you accept for the donation?

    • Cash or Credit Card.

    • If writing a check, please pay to the order of “For the Child” and not to Simple Health.

  • Will I receive a receipt for my donation today for my taxes?

    • No. Today’s Community Acupuncture event is a discounted treatment that is being offered by Simple Health. The donation will be made to For the Child from Simple Health, not from you directly, therefore you will receive a regular receipt but not a tax receipt. If you would like more information on how to donate directly to For the Child, please ask at the front.

  • Does Acupuncture Hurt? Is it safe?

    • We use very thin, sterile, disposable one-time use needles. So it is very safe, and most people do not feel the needles.

  • What does Acupuncture Treat?

Acupuncture effectively treats a wide range of conditions including but not limited to the following:

    • Pain: Headaches, back, knee, neck, shoulder, sciatica, arthritis.

    • Digestive & Bowel: acid reflux, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, gas & bloating, frequent or difficult urination

    • Respiratory: Common Cold, chronic cough, sore throat, asthma, allergies

    • Female: Menstrual pain or irregularity, PMS, menopause symptoms, infertility

    • Mental: Anxiety, stress, mild to moderate cases of depression.

    • Autoimmune: Eczema, psoriasis, Fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis.

  • What is Community Acupuncture and how is it different from regular Acupuncture?

    • Community Acupuncture is done in a group setting vs regular Acupuncture is usually in a private room.

    • Community Acupuncture only uses points on the head, arms & hands, and legs & feet. Regular Acupuncture can use points anywhere on the body.

  • How will I feel after?

    • Most people feel very relaxed after their treatment. Hopefully you will also have some alleviation from the symptoms for which you came. However, sometimes it takes a few sessions of Acupuncture before you will notice a significant change, therefore we do encourage you to continue Acupuncture afterwards.

  • How do I come back for more treatments?

    • Simple Health does not normally hold Community Acupuncture. Regular Acupuncture sessions are private and in a more relaxing environment. We encourage you to ask the front desk on how to continue your Acupuncture sessions either as a cash patient or by utilizing your medical insurance benefits.

  • How should I prepare for my treatment?

    • Please see the “Tips” section below
